Event Description : With the advent of Information and communication technology (ICT) advancement , rural health care solutions has put considerable pressure on expanding the reach of medical services without increasing costs due to distance constraint between urban and rural health centers.There has been renewed interest in Telemedicineand Tele-radiology as a means to expand healthcare services. This conference focuses on health
care professionals including Biomedical Engineer’s current and newer practices in Telemedicine, to enable them to benefit from the convergence of Biomedical Engineering, communication and Information Technology. The scope and purpose includes rural health challenges through POC (Point of Care) details of the requisite Hardware, Software, and Connectivity required for Telemedicine type of ehealth or m-health installation.
Some of the nontraditional areas of telemedicine will also be addressed. Some of the topics to be covered in this conference deliberation are,
1. HL7 Standards, inter-operability and regulatory developments using ICT applications in the health sector
2. Electronic records and information systems in the health sector
3. Public policies and innovation practices in electronic health / Mobile health and telemedicine in Tamil Nadu
4. Research, innovation and education in telemedicine/ telehealth
